Android Apps, iPad And iPhone Apps For National Parks Week


National Parks Week iPhone and iPad apps, as well as Android apps, is a fun and helpful way to celebrate the U.S. National Parks Week with your family and friends from April 21 to April 29, 2012.

  • NPCA Park Guides - an interactive field guide app to the wildlife of 50 National Parks includes all the birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians you'll encounter while visiting a park as well as helps you identify native trees and wildflowers. Users can also search for Endangered Species or Poisonous/Dangerous species native to any of the 50 National Parks featured. Users can also receive notifications of recent sightings, view recent sightings on interactive maps, see date, time, description, and photos of every sighting, upload and share your own wildlife sightings, and even limit displayed sightings to just the species you want to see, all for free!
  • Passport To Your National Parks - an iPhone app for all who enjoy America's national parks! This is a digital companion to your national parks Passport book that features the ability to view park maps, websites and much more. Users can also record memories and photographs of their visits to these amazing sites. Search for national parks by name, state, and Passport region. The Passport app allows you to collect information on your visits and mark parks you'd like to visit. Additionally, users can also view nearby national parks within 50 miles, 100 miles or 250 miles of your current GPS location.
