Google Introduces JAM With Chrome Interactive Web Music App

Google just introduced JAM with Chrome, an interactive web application that enables friends in different locations to play music together in the Chrome browser on their computers.

According to Google, users can get started playing by choosing from a selection of 19 different instruments, from acoustic and bass guitars to drum kits and keyboards. Users also has the option to switch instruments as many times as they like.

In addition, there's an "easy mode" and a "pro mode" that users can choose from. Users can also invite up to 3 friends in different locations to join the JAM using the sharing buttons on the site.

In the easy mode (default mode) users can experiment by clicking individual strings, drum pads or keys, or they can play around with the 4 different autoplay functions and let the machines do the work. Users can also switch to "pro mode" to play any instrument using their keyboard.

According to Google, JAM with Chrome is a Chrome Experiment that uses the latest modern web technologies, including HTML5 features such as Websockets, Web Audio API, CSS3 and Canvas.

Thanks to JAM with Chrome, now you can finally play music live with your friends online. For a demo "taste" of this super cool app from Google, check out the videos below. Enjoy, folks!
