cuisinart hand mixer cordless, review. If you’ve ever tried to whip egg whites for lemon meringue pie by hand you know it’s a workout! But there’s no doubt kitchen tasks like whipping eggs and cream, or making cake batter are made easier with machinery. Sure, you can get a big stand mixer, but a cost effective, smaller option is a hand mixer. An even more useful and versatile option is a cordless hand mixer.

Review: Cuisinart EvolutionX Cordless Hand Mixer, model RHM-100C

I recently received three of the appliances to test and review… and in this video/post we’ll look at the Cuisinart EvolutionX Cordless Hand Mixer, model RHM-100C. These small kitchen appliances promise cordless freedom—meaning you don’t need to be tied to an outlet or to one location in your kitchen.. now you can beat, blend and chop anywhere… including your RV or campsite! But can a cordless hand mixer really deliver enough power for daily kitchen cooking? cuisinart hand mixer cordless, reviewThe Hand Mixer comes with five different speed controls that can be adjusted based on what is being mixed. The digital LED indicator tells you which setting it is on.

What’s in the box?

The package is basic; you get the cordless hand mixer, a set of metal beaters and a charging cord. There’s just one set of beaters with this model; sometimes you’ll see thicker whisk arms packaged with a smaller, narrower set like these.

How to insert and remove beaters?

The beaters simply click into place, and unlike older hand beaters, there’s no need to press a release button to extract them; these just pull free. The base of the blender is designed so it can remain upright when not in use.

How powerful is Cuisinart EvolutionX Cordless Rechargeable 5-Speed Hand Mixer?

While there are many more uses, intended purposes for the mixer include tasks like mixing batters, beating eggs, and whipping cream; in my use, it does not seem capable of handling thicker concoctions like bread or cookie batters as well. cuisinart hand mixer cordless, review. In my testing there’s not a whole lot of difference in the speeds; each step up in nominal in speed and power, and it doesn’t really feel like there’s a huge difference between level 1 and level 5. With that said, I was still easily able to whip cream and egg whites on the settings available.

Charging & Battery

The mixer is rechargeable and with a full charge it should run for approximately 20 minutes depending on what you’re mixing. I can say I used the mixer about half a dozen times over the space of a week, and the battery light indicator hardly dropped. I probably only used it for about 6-7 minutes of total time… so that seems to jive with the expected life. The three blue lights on the front show how much juice you’ve got: with all three lights lit you’re pretty much full, with just the first light lit, you’re less than 40%. The blender will take approximately two hours to fully charge, though there is a quick charge feature: you can use 15 minutes of charging to get 25 seconds of runtime, charge for half an hour to get just under two minutes of run time, and an hour long charge will get you about 5 to 6 minutes of run time.

Why choose cordless appliances?

cuisinart hand mixer cordless, review. If you’re wondering, ‘Why  go cordless’? there’s a few great reasons to get one of these… Most kitchens don’t have lots of electrical outlets, and Cuisinart designed the EvolutionX products with that in mind. In general, small and cordless appliances give cooks and bakers more flexibility in the kitchen because you can use them anywhere, not just next to a wall outlet that may already be crowded with other appliances. Plus, with cordless freedom, you can take your appliance with you in the RV or camper van so you can cook or even bake on the road. But if road cakes seem a little ambitious, this device would also work if you were volunteering doing some baking, or just needed extra tools at hand when cooking with kids or pals.

Overall Review: Cuisinart EvolutionX Cordless Hand Mixer RHM-100C

Overall the Cuisinart EvolutionX Cordless Rechargeable 5-Speed Hand Mixer is a handy and versatile kitchen or travel appliance. The battery lasts, it’s compact and portable and stores in small spaces. While it’s better for thinner batters and mixtures, having a cordless version of this appliance is great – it’s portable and the cord doesn’t get covered in batter or tangled up in the cupboard. cuisinart hand mixer cordless, review.Any downsides? I suppose it could be that this blender seems to have just a short range between lowest and highest speeds; It would be nice in my opinion if it had a very high and fast setting, even if that high option drained the battery a bit faster. I do also wish it was a bit more powerful, and didn’t feel like it was struggling with thicker batters. I’m pretty pleased with this hand mixer: It’s earned a place in both my kitchen and it now comes on the road in the campervan. I can definitely recommend if for those with limited outlets, small kitchens or those RVers and vanlifers who need some small appliance options. The Cuisinart EvolutionX Cordless Rechargeable 5-Speed Hand Mixer RHM-100C (The C stands for Canada; find RHM-100 in the USA) sells for about $149CAD. *A note about Affiliate Links: Occasionally I will include affiliate links in my reviews.
