Need to keep an eye on what’s going on at home? A Wi-Fi connected security camera can help. While many cameras are big and bulky, I’ve found a really compact solution that also offers 1080P resolution, face and motion detection and more—and it only costs about twenty bucks!
360 Smart Indoor Security Camera AC1C review
I recently had the chance to review the 360 Smart Indoor Security Camera, model AC1C, and I’d like to thank 360 Camera for sponsoring this post, as their support helps me keep the blog and YouTube channel running. Even so, the company hasn’t told me what I can and can’t say about this product.
Inside the box, you get the camera, a long power cable and an AC plug.
Let’s look at the basics of what the 360 Smart Indoor Security Camera, model AC1C can do.
This camera has a boatload of features for such a small device: it comes with face detection, pet detection, it works in low light, and it can detect sounds and send you alerts, for example if it hears a baby cry. There’s also a 2-way microphone and speaker audio feature so you can talk to your pet, soothe the baby, or warn off an intruder.
The camera uses the free 360 Camera app.
Inside the app you can review past event footage, and review motion or faces detected, plus access a live feed any time. It’s important to note that you can only view a short snippet of video as part of the free program; if you need to view longer recordings, you can sign up for 360’s cloud recording service. More on that in a sec…
Video quality: 360 Smart AC1C
The HD video feed is quite clear and I was impressed with how much detail I can see. For example, when I wanted to see which of my dogs chewed my sunglasses, I was able to see Kica lift them from the table and bring them to the carpet. The colour is also quite accurate too.
360 Smart Indoor security camera features
Facial detection and recognition
360 Smart Indoor Security Camera has the ability to both detect faces, so you know when someone is in your space, but it can also recognize them. After it detects the same face a few times, the app will allow you to label family members and regulars so you’ll always know who’s in the room. You can also turn on alerts for when certain people are detected, or shut them off if there’s no need for familiar faces to trip the system. You can also search for specific events involving only those faces too. Neat.
Night video
360 Smart Indoor Security Camera has the ability to take video in both full dark and low light situations. If it;’s full dark, like this clip, it’s in black and white, but if it’s merely low light like this one, you’ll still see video in full color
Wide angle view
With a super wide 130° viewing angle, I’m easily able to see the entirety of my room at a glance, and everything that’s going on inside.
Sound detection
360 Smart Indoor Security Camera can detect a few types of noise and alert you, and it will also record those events too. You can set a simple ‘Cry Detection’ feature which will automatically record a video if it hears crying, you’ll get push notifications on your phone.
If 360 AC1C thinks something’s up, it’ll send a phone alert with a key image or video from the event. And if you miss an alert, you can see photos or videos of activity from 360 Security App.
Cloud Recording & SD card storage
If you don’t want to pay for cloud recording, you don’t have to. While it is common for many cloud cameras to have a monthly fee for storing and accessing your past videos, with 360 Smart Indoor Security Camera you can vie 5 seconds of footage for every event within the last (Week?) which is surprisingly enough to get an idea of what’s going on in the room. Upgrade to one of 360’s recording plans to get access to full length videos if you want.
You also have the option of adding a micro SD card to the camera for on-board recording too.
Scheduled shutdown
An interesting feature of 360 Smart Indoor Security Camera is the Shutdown Time feature, which lets you set out times when you don’t want to record activity. That could be during your morning household rush, or evening dinner prep.
Overall review 360 Smart Indoor Security Camera
Overall there’s a lot to like about the 360 Smart Indoor Security Camera. It’s super compact; its flat teardrop shape makes it very unobtrusive in your space, and it can be mounted nearly anywhere. You can also turn off its tally light so it can hide in plain sight more easily.
The HD video recordings are clear and easy to view, while the easy to use app makes sorting your videos truly simple. The motion detection means you’ll always know when there’s activity in your space. With the colour night vision, you’ll always have an accurate picture of what’s happening. Plus, you get two-way voice chat, and the option of cloud recording or using a micro SD card.
In short, if you want a versatile, top quality indoor security camera at a great price, you can’t go wrong with 360 Smart AC1C Indoor Security Camera. Get one from Amazon for about $19 or learn more on 360 Smart Life’s website.
